Parkinson’s Disease is a neurodegenerative disease that is characterized as having both non-motor and motor disorders. The use of acupuncture in treating PD can yield significant improvement in symptoms over the course of only 5-6 treatments. Patients often experience improved balance, less rigidity and more overall energy. Other symptoms such as pain, body aches and tenderness from PD can also be successfully treated with the use of acupuncture.
Acupuncture can restore function by replenishing deficiencies brought on by both PD and aging. By replenishing qi and blood, acupuncture can nourish the body and reduce harmful pathogens. In addition, acupuncture can purge damaging proteins and neuroinflammation. These factors combined can limit the progression of PD and treat patients who are experiencing the debilitating symptoms often associated with the disease.

I have been diagnosed with Parkinsonism but I’m not convinced that this is. I have tremors throughout my body mostly when there is any kind of muscle tension. I have spondliothesis (sp?) which is causing walking and balance issues. Can acupuncture help these issues?
